INSIGHT

Radiology Management Solutions (RMS) warns hospitals that they need to be prepared for another winter of increasing winter pressure across all departments. Although receiving less media coverage than in previous years, last winter saw some of the worst statistics on delivering healthcare over the winter period.

Radiology Management Solutions (RMS) has helped NHS Trusts across the north complete an additional 64,000 CT and MR scans in the last year.

RMS helps NHS Trusts save money and increase efficiency through better utilisation of in-house radiology resources. Their bespoke 7-day medical imaging service reduces waiting lists and bed blocking, enabling a robust emergency scanning service to help Trusts minimise waiting lists and speed up patient pathways to recovery or treatment. In the last year RMS has helped an additional 36,000 MR and 28,000 CT patients to be scanned and on their way to diagnosis and treatment.
RMS, the radiology management business, has won the Best Small Business Award at the North West Excellence in Supply Awards. They were also ‘Highly Commended’ in the competitive Support Services category.

The Excellence in Supply Awards promote and celebrate private sector organisations working in partnership with the NHS to deliver high quality, effective and efficient patient care; helping the health service to do more for less.
RMS, the radiology management business has been shortlisted in the prestigious North West Excellence in Supply Awards, for the categories Small Business and Support Services.
Radiology Management Solutions (RMS) estimate that an overall annual saving of circa £1.6million has been made across the Trusts that they work with. This saving was calculated based on extending the working hours of a radiology department rather than using a rented mobile unit on site.
RMS (Radiology Management Solutions), the scanning specialist, has recently partnered with the Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board for the supply of additional CT and MRI scanning services.

The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is the largest health organisation in Wales and has three main hospitals - Gwynedd Hospital in Bangor, Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan and Wrexham Maelor Hospital.
Radiology Management Solutions (RMS) has helped an NHS Trust address its staff shortage problem through the implementation of an innovative, out-of-hours staffing solution within its radiology department. RMS worked closely with one of its NHS Trust customers to implement an out of hours and weekend service that meant scans could continue to be performed, irrespective of staff shortages.

Radiology Management Solutions (RMS) has saved an NHS Trust circa £255,000 in annual savings through the provision of innovative MRI scanning solutions.
That the quality of care has been maintained in the toughest climate most can remember is testament to the hard work and dedication of staff and leaders, although director of Radiology Management Solutions (RMS), William Bailey, says some very real challenges lie ahead.

As Labour calls on the government to spend an extra £500 million on a winter bailout fund for NHS England, director of Radiology Management Solutions (RMS), William Bailey, says the problems run far deeper than many commentators outside the NHS could possibly imagine.
