RMS, the radiology management business, has been shortlisted in the prestigious HSJ Healthcare Partnership Awards for the category Best Healthcare Provider Partnership for their work with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.
RMS began working with Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board in May 2018 to help reduce their radiology waiting lists, as an alternative to bringing in a mobile scanning unit. The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is the largest health organisation in Wales and has three main hospitals - Gwynedd Hospital in Bangor, Glan Clwyd in Bodelwyddan and Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

CMichael Lancaster Commercial Director commented “We’re delighted to have achieved the shortlist for the HSJ Best Healthcare Provider Partnership award. We work closely with all of our customers to help reduce radiology waiting lists, which in turn helps patients to be diagnosed and treated as quickly as possible. To be recognised by the judges for our partnership with Betsi Cadwaladr UHB is fantastic news.”
The HSJ Healthcare Partnership Awards recognise that private sector involvement is fundamental to the treatments and services provided by the NHS, many of which could not be delivered by the public sector alone. The Awards showcase the most trusted partnerships with the NHS through a rigorous and challenging entry and judging programme. Patient experience and outcome are at the centre of the criteria, but judges also recognise value creation, stakeholder involvement, savings and sharing of best practice.
RMS helps NHS Trusts to realise the full potential of existing in-house scanning resources, providing CT, MRI and Ultrasound scanning solutions to help minimise waiting lists and accelerate patient pathways to recovery or treatment. Typically RMS will open a radiology department out of hours and at weekends, to enable patients to be seen quickly, providing a talented pool of radiographers, utilising existing Trust equipment.
The next stage of the awards process will be live judging in February, with winners announced at an event to be held in London on 20th March 2019.
