RMS founder and clinical director William Bailey has had an outstanding career in Radiology and is celebrating 35 years in the industry.

Bill’s career has included managing the MR and CT department at Manchester Royal Infirmary as well as co-founding RMS in 2011. A career highlight for Bill was implementing a national fast stroke MRI protocol and helping to lead the implementation of a post-mortem imagining service in Manchester and, subsequently, nationally.
RMS, the radiology scanning specialist, has expanded its reach into Yorkshire with the addition of a 12-month contract in Yorkshire that will see their highly trained CT radiographers running a 7-day 12-hour service to support an onsite mobile unit as well as increasing inhouse CT capacity at a separate site.

Radiology Management Solutions (RMS) has been awarded a 4-year framework agreement for the supply of radiology capacity management services by the Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. The framework means that NHS Trusts will be able to quickly work with RMS without lengthy procurement and tendering processes and is available for use by all NHS bodies and other public sector organisations in the UK.

The new Faster Diagnosis Standard, to be introduced in April 2020, will put additional pressure on imaging departments to meet cancer diagnosis deadlines.
The Faster Diagnosis Standard sets out to ensure that all patients who are referred for the investigation of suspected cancer find out within 28 days if they do or do not have a cancer diagnosis.

Radiology Management Solutions (RMS) is pleased to announce a collaboration with esteemed radiographers, Paul Rowe and Mike MacKenzie, to provide a complete in-house scanning and plain film reporting service to its NHS clients.

RMS provide an innovative scanning solution to help NHS Trusts reduce radiology waiting lists, which can often be at the core of hospital backlogs and bed blocking, as patients require diagnostic imaging before treatment.

A study by the International Cancer Benchmarking Partnership (managed by Cancer Research) has found that cancer survival in the UK has improved, but the country is still not performing as well as other high income countries such as Norway and Australia.

The study, which was published in the Lancet Oncology, looked at 3.9 million cancer cases between 1995 and 2014 in 7 comparable countries – Australia, Canada, Denmark, Ireland, New Zealand, Norway and the UK.

Radiology Management Solutions (RMS) warns hospitals that they need to be prepared for another winter of increasing winter pressure across all departments. Although receiving less media coverage than in previous years, last winter saw some of the worst statistics on delivering healthcare over the winter period.
Radiology Management Solutions (RMS) estimate that an overall annual saving of circa £1.6million has been made across the Trusts that they work with. This saving was calculated based on extending the working hours of a radiology department rather than using a rented mobile unit on site.
